This was the first week since Knox was born that I got a glimpse of “normal” life. I am still getting lots of help from friends & family…meals, gifts, time. I absolutely love your blog! Some days it’s a huge inspiration and some days it’s a gentle reminder to just slow down and enjoy my kids. And I’m relieved to know I’m not the only one who occasionally sits in my closet to cry. Congrats on your new addition, you have a beautiful family! Happy Friday!

Danger of Too Much Training {Say less. Pray more}

March 28, 2012 | Posted by GodCenteredMom on Book Review, mothering, prayer, training tips / Tagged: discipline, H. Clay Trumbull, Hints on Child Training | 8 comments

Clay Trumbull, father of eight children & the great-grandfather of Elisabeth Elliot, wrote it in 1890. The advice he gives is Bible-centered, wise & applicable to children of any ...

He looks up at me with eager eyes, longing to hear my answer: “Was I good today, Mommy?” His simple question breaks my heart. The truth is: “No child, you weren’t ‘good’ today. Remember when you hit your brother when he had done no wrong? Didn’t you say ‘no’ when I asked you to wash your hands? Weren’t you the one to steal my Diet ...

1. Focused 15 Bible Study My dear online & in-real-life friend Katie Orr just released a great Bible study series called “Focused 15″. This 4-week study is on 1 Corinthians 13. The science nerd in me loves her use of microscope terminology to define the Bible study techniques used each day. The best part about this ...

Christ came to save. He took on our sin, suffered & died. He was buried & rose again. He ascended into heaven & sent His Spirit to guide us. The early church formed & spread this good news. When those first believers, mostly Jews, read the Old Testament they clung to the prophecies. They were looking for confirmation of Jesus as the Son of God. The ...
