Yancy “Little Praise Party” Blog Tour {& Giveaway}

Music feeds my soul. From 11 years of piano lessons, performing in musicals, attending live music events…when I need to come out of a funk or remember who God created me to be, I listen to music.

My boys, by genetics or environmental influence, are also big fans. Turning on a favorite CD or Pandora is the one GUARANTEED way to “kick the crankiness” out of our house. Spirits are lifted. Bodies are moving. Voices are singing. God is glorified. Good stuff (particularly around 5 pm…you know what I mean).

A few weeks ago, when I saw our church was hosting a family concert AND it was Yancy coming. We cleared the schedule and showed up ready to praise!

We have been Yancy fans since I received her CD free at the Relevant Conference (now Allume) last October. My son came home one Sunday so excited because in Kindergarten praise & worship they sang “Love God, Hate Sin” (from Yancy’s album “Stars, Guitars, & Megaphone Dreams”).

At Yancy’s concert I was most impressed by how she integrated the whole family into the praise & worship experience. She sang upbeat songs to get everyone excited. She highlight the truth of God’s love in her lyrics. She even acknowledged the parents at one point giving them encouragement in whatever trial they may be facing.

Unfortunately I wasn’t able to tell Yancy face-to-face how much we love her upbeat, truthful, God-centered music (had a newborn I needed to get home). BUT the great news is that I got an email from my awesome friend Amanda asking me to join the Yancy blog tour…highlighting the new CD called: “Little Praise Party: Happy Day Everyday”
