When you feel small and big at the same time…

May 16, 2013 | Posted by GodCenteredMom on faith, God-centered, replacing "me" with "He" / Tagged: God-centered, humility, scale of the universe | 3 comments

The other day a friend who studied Biology with me at Taylor University posted this super cool link: Scale of the Universe. Two brother scientists created this site where you can explore the biggest of the big in the universe and the smallest of the small, from planets to atoms. You begin with the size of a human and ...

    I LOVE this Heather. It reminds me of Louie Giglio’s How Great is Our God talk where he talks about the stars and our star-breathing God and then ends by talking about Laminin the stuff in our body that holds all the stuff together. Have you heard it? Sometimes it’s so comforting to know we’re so little and have such a big, creative, powerful, sustaining God!!!

      thanks Laura! I need to check out Louie Giglio’s talk. Good to hear I’m not off in left field in my thinking. ;) Blessings!

    As I was reading your blog, I too was reminded of Louie Giglio’s talk. I heard him speak on it years ago with Chris Tomlin. It was amazing. Our God is so big and it is fascinating to me that we are so important to Him even when the universe is SO Huge. Can’t even wrap my tiny little brain around the size and greatness of our God. Thanks!

When someone helps make your summer awesome…

May 14, 2013 | Posted by GodCenteredMom on activity with kids, Book Review, summer fun / Tagged: activities, Jen Murray, Kidventures, Summer | 2 comments

The first blog I ever read written by someone I’d never met, was 4tunate.net by Jen Murray. Jen writes about her faith, food & life with her quadruplet boys! Since her 4 boys were the same age as my 2nd son (Price), any time I went through a hard stage…teething, for instance…I’d think “but Jen has this x4.” Sadly it always ...

Tea time for boys {a tribute to my mom mentors}

May 9, 2013 | Posted by GodCenteredMom on activity with kids, Holidays, mothering / Tagged: boys, discipleship, Mother's day, Tea time | 14 comments

In honor of Mother’s Day coming up, I’m going to share my current favorite activity to do with my boys…tea time! I love how it’s a culmination of wisdom from all the mothers who have influenced me. 1. The Preparation: While I heat the water, the boys select their tea. I’ve placed all my tea bags in a wooden ...

When you keep over-reacting…{aka “Mama Bear runs wild”}

**The winner of the “Whits End Mealtime Devotional” giveaway is…JOY MALONE!! Congratulations!** This week I probably should be posting about Mother’s day or something. But I feel like I need to come clean about a struggle I’ve been having…it’s related to motherhood… More than once I’ve found myself enraged by some sort of injustice relating directly or indirectly to my children (like one of those crazed sitcom ...
