Light the candles. It’s a party y’all! When Bruce asked what I wanted for Christmas I told him I really wanted a new site design for GodCenteredMom. When he asked me what I wanted for my birthday, I told him I really wanted a new site design for GodCenteredMom (and for Valentine’s Day…and our ...

What a beautiful new space you have. I recently ‘moved’ too and it was so exciting to dream, plan and pray over my new space.

I find that I connect with God throughout the day in prayer mostly. I keep our ‘child training Bible’ handy and we dive in throughout the day. It is amazing how refreshed I feel after bathing my soul in the Word for a bit – especially when things get a little hectic.

Thanks Heather! Ted (from contemplate design) does a great job really talking through the purpose of the space & making it functional. Oh yes prayer…without ceasing, right? I love the “keep the child Bible handy” idea…involving the kiddos in the process. Thanks for sharing!

I have a Christian radio station all day. I feel lost if I don’t have it on. When I am busy I get a little taste of God as I pass through my kitchen.

The Spirit is present in worship. I love having Pandora on in our kitchen…especially at the end of the day when the crazy starts ramping up! Thanks for sharing!

Very nice! I wish I could keep the mommy time post in the top four for all time. It made a huge difference to me. Also, the post about Santa and grace, the one about the Easter basket with rocks, and the one about the birthday party that was really about the kid (I think it was Watts who chose a miss match of themes) are stand outs to me.

Happy Birthday and thanks for the fun giveaway! I think I stay God-Centered by waking up a few minutes before the three kids come through my bedroom door at 7:06 am (that is when their Good Night Light turns to a sun) and I pray, read some scripture, and just have a few minutes of silence to prepare for the day. I also pray, pray, pray through out the day. Often times, out loud, so my kids can hear whatever is on my heart and model praying/seeking help from God. Thanks again!

Y’all there are so many thoughts spinning in my head and I’m having the hardest time getting them to come out “perfectly”. So I’m throwing off perfection and gonna do the next right thing…which is tell you what God is telling me. Last New Years when bloggers wrote about their “one word” for 2012 I scoffed and sarcastically ...

The only way to write a book on humility {part 1}

November 5, 2012 | Posted by GodCenteredMom on announcement, calling, humility, the book / Tagged: Bill Jensen, book proposal, humility, publishing | 29 comments

Most writers have big plans to write books. I struggle to even call myself a writer. If you asked me about my “dreams” I would talk about women’s ministry or speaking. But God has a different plan. God decided I should write a book. I’m just coming to grips with His idea. This post should have been written 6 months ago. But back then I thought keeping the ...

It’s been a year since I wrote “10 things my roomie should know”.

PRAYER! prayer keeps me centered and when I am tempted to fall apart I usually search out one of my favorite blogs for inspiration – like yours as a matter of fact!

Oh Heather it is beautiful just like you! It is perfect.

Lord Jesus, would you bless all who gather in the place. Would you use Heather to love on moms and women who need You. And would you remind Heather that as she serves you in this sweet spot, You smile?

    Amen.

I have a Christian radio station all day. I feel lost if I don’t have it on. When I am busy I get a little taste of God as I pass through my kitchen.

    • reply → GodCenteredMom March 22, 2013 at 11:14

I’ve told you how awesome it is. I’ve told you how out-of-sync I feel when I DON’T do it. Today I’m sharing how I truly cannot live (the way I want to live) without morning time with God. Since January of 2011 (for 1 1/2 years), I’ve risen early, headed to my leather chair and spent time in worship and His ...
