Earlier this week I shared the truth God gave me on my flight to Chicago about national security…as a nation under God. In God. With God. True security in Him alone. And you may have been curious…Where was Heather going? Why was she in Chicago? Well, here is the rest of the story… After the Color Guard ...

When the world leaves you feeling insecure…
Sitting down in an usually large chair removed from the rest of gate C2, I finally felt the weight of the previous week. A pit settled in my stomach when I considered the world in that moment. Explosions at what should have been a joyous event. A man hunt in a quiet neighborhood. Even a car chase and arrest on my street. I reflected on my experience at airport ...

Yes! I’m picturing you in that grace bubble too…and picturing the huge smile on God’s face because he delights in you. Thanks for this!

Very encouraging. Much needed it today!
I love the statement, you wrote “It is His unmerited favor (grace) that holds me center.” I TOTALLY AGREE with it!

AMEN. Again Heather, by God’s grace, your words have helped me to exhale! Grace. Amazing grace. I love the pictures of His love for us your friends encouraged you with. I fall victim to the Galatians mentality often…”having begun with the Spirit, but then trying to attain the goal by human effort.” Gal 3:3. Praying we are overwhelmed by His love and delight in us, and that His grace compels us, not our human effort. Love this friend, and all you are learning, and sharing!

Heather, I’m so humbled by your story. The Lord has been bringing me to my knees, simply asking me to delight in Him and rest in His presence; but I’be been trying so hard to achieve His peace and His delight, that I’ve lost sight of His delight in me. Oh what joy there is in allowing ourselves to stop trying and simply embrace the beautiful daughters we are to the One who gave us life and blesses us with His peace [moment by moment]! True delight!

Where I boast about my weak decorating…
I considered hanging my “Be still & know that I am God” sign above our mantle. Since that required pulling out a hammer, nail and ladder (3 objects extremely dangerous in the presence of small boys), the sign sat leaning on top of mantle…for months. It’s pleading message of “be still” peaking out behind a decorative glass plate and a vase. Like the can of ...

Remember? We’re on the same team.
Pretty sweet, huh? Well just a few hours prior getting them into that bed was anything but calm & lovely. Jumping on beds. Silly childish antics. “Moooom, he pushed me!!” Battles over pajamas. Bruce and I have both been working too hard, staying up too late and by the end of the day our patience is ...

Whether it’s 70 years or just one…
This past week I’ve found myself pouring over the book of Jeremiah. I know it’s an odd book from the Bible to “pour over”. I’ll explain. Have you ever written out this verse in a graduation card or given it to a friend going through a hard time: “‘For I know the plans I have for you’, declares the LORD, ‘plans to prosper you and not to ...
