Tea time for boys {a tribute to my mom mentors}

May 9, 2013 | Posted by GodCenteredMom on activity with kids, Holidays, mothering / Tagged: boys, discipleship, Mother's day, Tea time | 14 comments

In honor of Mother’s Day coming up, I’m going to share my current favorite activity to do with my boys…tea time! I love how it’s a culmination of wisdom from all the mothers who have influenced me. 1. The Preparation: While I heat the water, the boys select their tea. I’ve placed all my tea bags in a wooden ...

    Love, love seeing these wonderful boys–and drinking tea–just like C.S.Lewis and Tolkien! :) Thanks for your very generous words. God bless you this Mother’s Day.

      Oh Sally, if you only truly understood the impact you’ve made on my mothering. To think your books & teaching are helping me raise 4 godly men and I’m only ONE of the many, many moms impacted by your life work? God bless you friend. Particularly on Mother’s day…a day I feel like you especially should get extra special recognition for helping moms around the world stand tall knowing they are worthy to receive praise! Blessings.

But I feel like I need to come clean about a struggle I’ve been having…it’s related to motherhood… More than once I’ve found myself enraged by some sort of injustice relating directly or indirectly to my children (like one of those crazed sitcom ...

Taking all four boys to eat lunch with Bruce to celebrate Quade’s 7 1/2 birthday and Knox’s 1st birthday was two bananas shy of a fruit basket. Watts greeted Bruce’s employees by lifting up his shirt. Price proceeded to pour salt & ...

Filling up my Momheart

Two years ago while ill with flu, I stayed in bed and followed the Momheart conference on Twitter (via @SomeGirlTweets). Here I listed all the wonderfully inspirational tweets. Last year I headed to the doctor’s office instead of the conference hotel, thinking I was going into labor. Fortunately it was a false alarm & I was able to attend Momheart after all (contracting every couple ...

When I had Knox, the older boys were just finishing up the second half of Spring semester. A month after he was born, I attended parent-teacher conferences. During one conference a teacher asked me, “When ____(insert name)___ does something he’s not supposed to do, what is his consequence?” Crickets. Oh shoot! Consequences? I had completely forgotten about consequences. What I wanted to tell her, but wisely didn’t, was ...
