She called to talk about my son, but I was the one who benefitted. As she spoke of his desire to perform perfectly, I nodded my head knowing how he feels. Two missed phonograms lead to a meltdown in class. Haven’t I melted down over feeling like I failed. She wanted to make sure he knew God loved him no matter ...

I celebrate your beauty {Guest Post by Emily Wierenga}
**I am honored to have Emily Wierenga, author of the book, “Chasing Silhouettes: How to Help a Loved One Battle an Eating Disorder”, guest posting on the blog today. Thank you for this reminder! Actually, I believe the Lord really wants me to learn this lesson right now. After a phone call from a friend this week pointing this out, a book I just received as a gift called “She Did What She Could,” and your post…I’m listening God. Praying for that sweet boy of yours…understand that school situation entirely too well
. Praying we all can live it out. -

The results confirmed my personality type out of 9 options: perfectionist. As such, I need: “to know what is expected so that I can act accordingly and excel...to do things by the book ...

A Diet of Words
Sweet baby Knox does not love when I have dairy in my diet. When I drink milk, eat yogurt, or enjoy some Blue Bell Ice Cream, the milk I produce for him makes his tummy hurt and he spits up a lot. As much as I love a good bowl of yummy Rocky Road or delicious sour cream enchiladas, I love Knox more and don’t ...

Close friendships: the alternative to self-sufficiency
Remember how pride is a disease? The symptoms of that disease are numerous. We’ve already worked through several of the “Symptoms of Self”. One area of my life that is drastically affected by my pride is my relationships. I’d rather be self-sufficient than have to depend on people. I don’t want to be vulnerable. People disappoint. I’ve been ...
