Tea time for boys {a tribute to my mom mentors}

May 9, 2013 | Posted by GodCenteredMom on activity with kids, Holidays, mothering / Tagged: boys, discipleship, Mother's day, Tea time | 14 comments

In honor of Mother’s Day coming up, I’m going to share my current favorite activity to do with my boys…tea time! I’ve placed all my tea bags in a wooden ...

      Oh Sally, if you only truly understood the impact you’ve made on my mothering. To think your books & teaching are helping me raise 4 godly men and I’m only ONE of the many, many moms impacted by your life work? God bless you friend. Particularly on Mother’s day…a day I feel like you especially should get extra special recognition for helping moms around the world stand tall knowing they are worthy to receive praise! Blessings.

Only God knows what kind of men my boys will become. And so I seek Him and ask Him to give me wisdom. Wisdom to know His plans. Eyes to see their uniqueness. And then words to direct their hearts towards His calling. Today I’m writing over at the MOB Society about casting a Godly vision for your boys (also true for girls…but the site is ...

The one-sided lunch date {an update on the boys & the book}

January 24, 2013 | Posted by GodCenteredMom on family, the book / Tagged: boys, publishing | 14 comments

Wouldn’t it be fun if we planned to meet for a 3-hour lunch date? We could sip iced tea, eat some warm baked potato soup and share what God’s been doing in our lives. Okay…maybe we will have to settle for a one-sided date. A monologue of sorts…me blabbing on and on about myself (and my boys). Maybe you can email me or comment below your latest ...

Water Gun Target Practice

July 5, 2012 | Posted by GodCenteredMom on activity with kids, creativity, summer fun / Tagged: boys, Summer, target practice, Water guns | 7 comments

Okay, so I know I wasn’t going to post this week…but this idea just happened. Hoping it helps you with over-tired, candy-filled, post-4th of July kiddos. My boys LOVE their water guns, but they don’t love to get shot in the face with water. In the past, to give them a productive goal, we’ve set up recycled trash as a target to aim at instead of ...

My post on my boys and their tendency to harm others and it’s humbling effects  spurred some great discussion and questions among my mommy friends. I thought I would continue the conversation on my blog. Here are variety of situations in which my boys may hurt someone else and how I would handle each situation…to the best of my ability. May you be encouraged to ...
