Wouldn’t it be fun if we planned to meet for a 3-hour lunch date? We could sip iced tea, eat some warm baked potato soup and share what God’s been doing in our lives. Okay…maybe we will have to settle for a one-sided date. A monologue of sorts…me blabbing on and on about myself (and my boys). Maybe you can email me or comment below your latest ...

The only way to write a book on humility {part 1}
Most writers have big plans to write books. I struggle to even call myself a writer. If you asked me about my “dreams” I would talk about women’s ministry or speaking. But God has a different plan. God decided I should write a book. I’m just coming to grips with His idea. This post should have been written 6 months ago. But back then I thought keeping the ...

Reading this really made me take a closer look at my kids as well. Having twins and that too two and a half yr old boys has given me challenges and many sweet moments. But to raise them God centred is my mission and I believe everything else will fall into place. You have been a real inspiration and I am trying to deal in love in every trying situation. I love talking about my kids and that actually reinforces the positives I see in them and helps me see the negatives in a different light. But reading your blog today reminded me I need to do it more often. May God bless you and strengthen you in your good work.

You are so sweet. So thankful God is bigger than me. Words I thought were selfish He used to help give you hope and perspective. very very thankful. Praying God will, in His grace, help us to stay centered in Him so we can find the grace & love we need to mother well. blessings!

I love reading your blog! I stumbled across it from a friend several months ago and always find it so encouraging! You definitely have a talent!! I also love reading about the boys and all of their distinct personalities – what a great post. And boy are my kids different! (Loved the part about growing out of the difficult/stubborn stage! I have to remember that) I think I’ve had just about every boy in the nursery at church and its fun to see them all growing! Great work on the book… I can’t wait to read it!

ps. We miss the young family grow group and are hoping Cooper can last through 2 services soon! He’s just still not a fan of the nursery!

Thank you Kristen for your sweet words of encouragement! Yes, it’s nice now having the 3rd boy going through this stage and remembering they do grow out of it. So I handle it with a little more patience than I did with the other two (poor first kids…the guinea pigs!). Thank you for loving on our boys in the nursery. Oh I remember those days of staying in the nursery two services being a challenge. Be blessed friend!!

Thanks for lunch
I had a great time! But I had Diet Dr. Pepper. Loved hearing about the boys!!! n my life …? Realizing I have but 7 months left with my daughter in the house before she leaves us for COLLEGE! Wow, that will change the way you view your days. So somewhere in that mix, I’m trying to finish an Ebook … but I MUST GET IT DONE. Been working on it for over a year! I’m taking January to do some nice, slow inventory between me and the Lord. It’s been good. A little brutal at times, but good. Blessings to you in your scooter chasing, 4digit counting, hairy pet shopping, dishwasher standing beautiful day!

you rock julie!! As I sip my late afternoon diet dr pepper (like to spread out my caffeine…coffee for breakfast, iced tea for lunch…). Can’t imagine the idea of 7 months until the nest empties. Praying for sweet memories with your daughter but also great bonding time for you & your husband as you prepare for jumping in to a new season of marriage. Also prayers for your eBook. May God fill you with His word. I’ve learned in the publishing world…books take a LONG time. I signed an agent contract back in April and I still don’t have my proposal done (my fault…not his). Then there is the publishing contract and the year or less to write the book and another 6 months to a year before it’s released. I’ve enjoyed taking my time as God as revealed an even deeper level of His message I had missed previously. So enjoy the slowness. love!!!

I love Julie’s comment! Yes, I think we’re all pretty cheap lunch dates
. I can totally see Bill loving your chapters because they’re raw, real and full of God’s heart. Can’t wait to hear more about the book. Are you finished with the proposal stage and on to the writing of the full manuscript? Fun times!-

You are such an encourager Fawn!!! Was just sharing your wonderfulness with my mentor today. I’m actually still in the proposal stage. Very very far from a manuscript. You are my hero! Baby steps, right?

Miss you! Love hearing all your updates and seeing what’s going on with those sweet, hilarious boys! Cannot wait to hold the book in my own hands.
Me? Let’s see….working on replacing my fears with faith this year (didn’t realize just how fearful I was about so many things and when it came down to it, what little faith I have) Trying to focus on and prioritize the important things and learn to ignore the other voices, lies, distractions…. As always, your blog is a breath of fresh air.

oh friend! hung out with Leslie and I do miss y’all. God is doing good things in where he has led me but I do miss y’all. We may have grey hair before you get a hard copy book, but all in His perfect timing, right? Love what God is working on in your heart. Read a great post by Kat yesterday about not parenting in fear. Good stuff. Are you going to Momheart? hope to see you there!

So, holding on to your encouragement about the hard child. Our number 2 is beating me down. She has grown up/matured so much in the last 18 months and I know she will in the next 18 months but ……

I’m a little slow in catching up, but thanks for this update. I love the pictures that capture your life with the boys, full of life and love and the best kind of messiness.
Praying for you as you move forward with the book!-
