Do You Trust Me? {lesson from the Horse Whisperer}

When Knox arrived a year ago, my other three little guys experienced chaos and upheaval. For a solid 6 months (2 months before the birth, at least 4 months after) stood a tired and highly emotional mom. Our relationships suffered. My boys just didn’t trust me. Eyes questioned my harsh tone. Bodies leaned away from my reach. They didn’t believe I had their best interest in ...

    Sweet words and so so true. My 4th is now 15 months and I feel like I’m finally re-establishing trust with the other 3. Having 4 kids all back to back to back is rough at times. I also started taking each of the older 3 out on dates in the evenings, and that has helped a lot. Some 1 on 1 time is priceless!

      Thank you for your comment! Maybe it’s a “have 4 kids” thing… Yes the one-on-one dates makes a huge difference. I’ve even found over the past year with our school schedule I’m getting full days with just one of the middle boys and the baby. Which has been so helpful in connecting and therefore an obedient spirit. Thanks friend!

    I really enjoyed this post, it has given me food for thought so to speak. I had just read the day before last your post about having little pharisee children and the book about anger. These two posts have spoken to my heart and have helped me to find new ways to share with my children when their actions need correcting and how to go about it. I kind of think I am losing the race when the one child looks at me when I am raising my voice with a blank stare in his eyes… kind of like…oh boy here she goes again…..sigh…..so much for me to learn.
